A 19th century French confit pot. Originally from France. It is glazed in the classic yellow which is warm and earthly in tone. This clay pot would have been used to store Confit Du Canard and would have had a stopper or lid which is not present. This pot would have been artisan made.
The pot has damage to one of the handles which is shown in the photos and there is also a couple of holes in one side which is also shown in the photos. The pot has a patina effect across its surface. It wear is consistent with its age and usage. Please view the photos as they form part of the condition report.
