A French Napoleon III style tub chair dating from around 1850. This very comfortable chair is the typical style from the Napoleon III period. It has elegant cabriole legs. The high round back is a fabulous shape and has a great form. The tub chair is open splayed with scrolled arms and a large comfortable sprung seat. It has been stripped of its upholstery and is now covered in its original linen. It is the perfect re-upholstery project. It has been cleaned.
The chair is in an overall good condition. The original fabric has been removed so that the muslin is left which means the chair is ready to be reupholstered in the buyer’s chosen fabric. There was slight old woodworm damage which we have cleaned and treated (just in case). Wear is consistent with age and usage, but it is in a good condition.
